Kalemegdan

Kalemegdan is Belgrade’s oldest structure. The fortress used to be the city itself as residents lived only within its walls. Nowadays there is a very nice park where locals come to walk their dogs, play with their children or to hug their lovers overlooking the Sava river and Novi Beograd on the opposite bank. You can visit the fortress and enjoy the views which are most striking at sunset. I particularly like to see from up there the Ada Bridge and the Genex Tower. A nice running route would pass through the park, from Dorcol to Savamala, instead of going around via the riverbank running paths.
