Rio’s brand new postcard, Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow) is a futuristic tribute to the history of the planet and the future of Humankind. Opened in late 2015, the complex is a state-of-the-art contemporary science museum, designed by award-winning Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Using digital features and impressive visual effects, the museum encourages visitors to reflect on topics such as climate change, population growth, technology and others. All the content is available in Portuguese, English and Spanish. More than displaying a physical collection, the experience is very interactive – which turns out to be a great kids-friendly attraction. It is located at Porto Maravilha, a huge gentrification project at Rio’s old port area, in the Centro.
