When it comes to luxury shopping malls, Thais are way ahead of the rest of the world. Instead of those Hong Kong and Singapore mammoths where you will only see Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Co., in Bangkok the mix is more interesting, with brands from Asia and, especially, from Thailand. The newest and cutting edge addition to Bangkok’s luxury malls is Central Embassy. Its architecture is astonishing, with curves giving a Zaha Hadid feel to it. At the basement you will find Eathai, a well stocked supermarket and restaurants with a street food feel serving Thai specialties. There are also many options, from gourmet sushi to Michelin-starred dim sum at the restaurants on the 5th floor.
