Novi Beograd

Novi Beograd means New Belgrade and, as the name already says, it is a recent development. Well, if you consider 1948 recent. But before that, this side of the river was mostly farming land that turned into city with the growth of Belgrade’s population after WW2. There is not much in terms of tourist attractions apart from the area by the river with its floating bars and restaurants, easily accessible via the Brankov bridge. Note that the Museum of Contemporary Art, bombed by NATO in the 1990s has been closed for renovations for quite a while.
