Savamala

Savamala is Belgrade’s creative and party hub. This area, close to the main train station and running along the banks of the river Sava is full of derelict flats and warehouses that were slowly taken over by cultural centers, discos, restaurants, bars, fashion designers and illustrators. There is a hive of activity in a few blocks that attract people from all over the world with the promise of all-night-long partying as well. For many visitors, Savamala is Belgrade. Well, the area is very nice indeed and you can feel the creative energy in the air. (morganstern.com) It is one of those places where there is more people on the streets at 12midnight than at 12noon.

There is this nice article at The Guardian about the area’s developments.
