The Whitney Museum is New York’s Modern and Contemporary Museum for art made in the USA, mostly by American artists but also by foreigners living and working in the country. It has recently moved from the Upper East Side to a brand new Renzo Piano building. Its Biennial is America’s most important art show showcasing works by living artists. Their collection is staggering, with all the major artists in it. Certainly an unmissable visit, both for the art and for the building itself, a masterpiece in its own right.
