After Nobu conquered the world and was lonely at the top of the best global Japanese restaurants, Zuma comes along to challenge the status quo. The high-end chain has taken its time to settle in New York, having tested ground in Dubai, Istanbul, London and Miami. The trendy izakaya style restaurant offers amazing Japanese food albeit extremely expensive. Oh well, fresh fish and sushi masters come at a price. This is a good place for that special celebration or just to feel rich once in a while. If you want to visit the place but rather have a burger at the Shake Shack on Madison Square Park afterwards, have a drink at the Zuma Bar for happy hour.
