The Parrish Art Center in the northern tip of Long Island, not far from Montauk and the Hamptons houses an important and eclectic art collection. The architecture of the place interlaces the outside vegetation with the exhibition halls, making it a pleasant experience. Put it on your to-do-list for a day out of town, together with an incursion into the beaches of Montauk. The Long Island Railroad has frequent services to Southampton from Manhattan and Brooklyn.
