Former mansion of industrialist and art collector Raymundo Ottoni de Castro Maia, the museum displays an interesting collection of Brazilian and European modern art. Highlights from his former private collection include works from Brazilians Di Cavalcanti, Iberê Camargo, Portinari, but also boast international names like Picasso, Matisse, Miró, Monet, Degas and Dalí. The complex also features Brazilian furniture dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. At Santa Teresa district, the building is surrounded by a lovely garden with breathtaking views of Guanabara Bay
