Il Panino Ingegnoso

Piazza di Pietra, 35 | Delicatessen

Daily from 10am to 12am

Forget about the sad and classic panini (sandwiches) laid out for tourists around Rome. If you want to try a different and delicious combination you should head to Il Panino Ingegnoso. The small yet very well located joint, near the Pantheon and right in front of the ancient columns of Hadrian’s temple. You can go during the day to grab a sandwich or late afternoon to have an aperitivo. You can have some bruschettas admiring the 15-meter high Corinthian columns, built in 145 AD. The attendants are very friendly and they can surprise you with their “culinary inventions”. The Piazza di Pietra, where Il Panino Ingegnoso is located has its name (stone square) because it was built using the stones from the ancient temple. This is Rome.
