Baščaršija

The traditional neighborhood of Baščaršija could easily be in Turkey as it was founded by the Ottomans and have been kept untouched ever since. The cobblestone streets wind through mosques, bazaars, kebab shops and cafés. The atmosphere is great, with the daily call to prayer and minarets giving it a special feel. All of a sudden, a few blocks down the road, you are back in the Balkans. Enjoy your walk, peek into the side streets, have a coffee and let the atmosphere sink in. This is why you came to Sarajevo for. 😉
