The Belvoir is one of Australia’s most innovative and acclaimed theatre companies. It engages the country’s most prominent and engaging playwrights, directors, actors and designers to create a dynamic, challenging and visionary annual season. In 1984, when the theatre was about to be sold, a group of more than 600 theatre fans, media professionals and the art scene have grouped to raise funds to buy it in order to preserve and foster the theatre in Sydney. They have succeeded and the Belvoir is not an integral part of the country’s cultural scene. Do not miss the chance to see one of their productions.
