The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, in the heart of historic The Rocks, strikes a good balance with the area. With two beautiful buildings, one art deco and the other very contemporary, the museum showcases for free its permanent art collection with much focus on Australian artists and there is always a ticketed blockbuster exhibition as well. On the rooftop you can find a café with nice view and a good place to rest while enjoying a glass of wine.
