Hubert

15 Blight Street | CBD | French | $$$

Lunch Monday to Friday from 12noon to 3pm
Dinner Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 1am

The CBD, or Central Business District of Sydney does not go to sleep once the bankers and other office workers have gone home. Quite the contrary. There are quite a few remarkable bars and restaurants in the area, as long as some 5-star hotels that draw people once the sun has set. Hubert is a mix of New York and Paris as the décor focuses on red curtains and the wooden bars. The menu is very French but served in a contemporary sharing way, tapas style. Apart from a large steak and a whole chicken, all dishes can be shared. The pickled octopus and the steak tartare are really mouth watering. There are nice French wines by the glass if you do not consider a sin to drink European wine while in Australia.
