The made in Japan Netflix series Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories gives you a glimpse on the comings and goings of a small izakaya in Tokyo where customers come for comfort food in the wee hours and share their stories with each other and with you. I love watching the episodes because they are very simple and show sides of Japanese life that you would normally not see. I really enjoy knowing more about the culture of the places I travel to and by watching a series like this one I feel like living with those characters for those 20-odd minutes of each episode.
