For those interested in history and art, the XVA Hotel can be a very good choice in Dubai. Away from the glitz and glam of Downtown, the Marina and the Palm Jumeirah, this boutique property is located in the heart of old Dubai, where the traditional houses have been renovated and the historic atmosphere revitalised over the past 10 years.
Part of an art gallery, you will stay amongst paintings and sculptures in a traditional Arabian house. It is a great base to enjoy a day or two of this forgotten Dubai, where most tourists may never set feet, unfortunately. The area is vibrant, has a totally distinct feel from the “modern” Dubai and it is well worth a visit, for a drink or a cinema screening if you are not staying here.
