The Ace Hotel is not only a hotel but a happening place. The lobby, though a bit dark, is constantly filled with freelancers in their laptops and people from all over having the most varied conversations. The rooms come in many sizes, shapes and prices, so there is a place for every budget (but you will have to reserve the cheaper ones way in advance). The Breslin restaurant by chef April Bloomfield is another magnet for the place. Moreover, there is a busy schedule of events in the lobby and other public areas of the hotel. Even if you are not staying here, pass by to check the vibe.
