Those planning a day trip out of the city should put Storm King Art Center on the radar. This gigantic park filled with large format art pieces is a boon for the senses. I would definitely recommend a visit on a beautiful sunny day, preferably during Spring or early Autumn. Grab a bike at the Visitor Center to explore the park and its sculptures, all of them major works of art. Don’t try to see it all in one visit. Select what interests you more and concentrate on those. It is a place to come back and see the changing of the seasons’ effect on nature and the art around it.
You can get to Storm King Art Center with the Metro-North Trains from Grand Central plus a short taxi ride from Beacon Station. Another way is to buy a bus ticket from Coach USA leaving from Port Authority.
